The Word is Spreading About Fork

The word about Fork has been spreading fast. Thanks to mention on sites below the Fork site has now had almost 6000 visitors!

It is interesting to read some of the comments people have made on del.icio.us

  • "this guy think the same thing i thought for a while" - fri13th
  • "Has a good explanation of why the library was created - compared prototype to yui." - DragonI
  • "I know we are meant to be 'standardising' on YUI. But maybe this could be a better choice? + it is namespaced!" - justinkoke
  • "A javascript library that tries to combine the best bits from YUI and Prototype. Some special sauce for Ruby on Rails, too." - joshclark
  • "A new library taking the best bits from the Prototype and YUI javascript libraries" - ans
  • "JS library attempting to combine the best of YUI and Prototype with a liberal license" - jimray
  • "Another Javascript library; attempts to blend the best of Prototype and YUI." - cobralibre
  • "Yet another JavaScript library, but tries to address shortcomings in Prototype and YUI along with offering a liberal license." - thaislump
  • "This is the best reason to stick with this one: 'browser execution environment is wildly varied and deserves a certain degree of conservatism'" - marc0047
  • "Fork: MIT licensed quality (?) library based on YUI and Prototype (sans the bad prototypeisms)." - Ohayou
  • "Alternative to prototype also born in Ruby on Rails environments. It seems that the number of people that dislike prototype is increasing." - jorge.ferrer

There certainly seems to be a trend in the comments and a desire for a library with the Fork design philosophy.

Hello,

Is it possible to include Konqueror to your tests. Konqueror is not the exact copy of Safari.

Peter Michaux January 23, 2007

I am working to make testing in a wider set of browsers easier. Konqueror and older versions of Safari are high on my list of priorities to add for testing.
